Cloud9’s Guide to Summer in Brighton & Hove3 min read
Unsure on ideas for summer plans? At Cloud9 we are lucky enough to be only a ten-minute walk away from the seafront.
When the summer sun hits the Sussex coast, there is nowhere quite like the Brighton and Hove seafront. The historic promenade comes alive with an infectious, buzzing energy, transforming the beach into the perfect place for adventure seekers, foodies, and sun worshippers alike. There is a vast range of activities situated around the seafront, from exciting adrenaline-pumping thrillers to multiple vibrant nightlife venues.
With such a wide range of options you may find yourself stuck on what to try first, so we are here to present a list of activities toget you started.
High Energy and Adventurous

If you consider yourself an adrenaline junkie, you should try the longest zipline on the South Coast, Brighton Zip. Located right on the beach, you can go solo or race a friend down a 300-metre dual cable with the beach dropping away beneath you.
Another thrilling, but free, option is a swim in the sea. You will see lots of people doing this during the summer.
Further down the beach, there is Hove lagoon water sports. This location offers a medley of sports such as wakeboarding, windsurfing and sailing. If sports isn't your thing, there is also a friendly and cosy cafe with a direct view of the lagoon.
Finally, if you're interested in sightseeing with a touch of physical activity, we recommend grabbing a Beryl bike from anywhere in Brighton and checking out the seafront in style. It’s the perfect way to feel the sea wind in your hair, bypass the summer traffic, and effortlessly cruise past the city's iconic landmarks at your own pace.
Classic Seaside Views

If you're after a classic Brighton experience, a visit to the Brighton pier has everything you could want for a fun day out. With arcade games, rollercoasters, delicious food and more, it truly is the Brighton experience.
For a more relaxed, picturesque vibe, you can wander down to Hove Lawns. The iconic, brightly painted beach huts make the perfect summer backdrop, and the lawns are ideal for a lazy afternoon picnic.
A must-do in Brighton is to step into the I360, a giant glass viewing pod that glides 138 metres into the air. On a clear summer day, you get panoramic views of the entire Sussex coast and the rolling South Downs.
Brighton is known for its diveristy and fun culture. In August each year, the beachfront and Hove Lawns become the epicentre of the UK's biggest Pride celebrations, bursting with colour, music, and community energy.
Finally, a favourite experience here at Cloud9, is the large range of fish and chip shops by the seafront. No trip to the British seaside is complete without it. Grabbing a classic portion of fish and chips from one of the many traditional beachfront kiosks and eating them straight out of the paper while watching the waves is a mandatory summer ritual (just keep an eye out for the local seagulls!).

There truly is something for everyone here, which is exactly why we love where our office is based. Being so close to the vibrant seafront means that summer inspiration and after-work adventures are only ever a moment away.
So, when you're stuck on what to do this summer, how about you try one of these Cloud9 favourites?
