Exciting changes, but what does it mean for you?
Last week, the invisibility cloak was lifted on Dynamics 365 with its ‘First Look’ conference taking place in Florida. Since July, the rumour mill has been spinning with ideas and intriguing information about ‘What’s Next?’ for Dynamics CRM as we know it.
‘Microsoft Dynamics 365 is the next generation of intelligent business applications that enable organisations to grow, evolve and transform. These applications unify CRM and ERP capabilities by delivering new purpose-built applications that work seamlessly together to help manage specific business functions across Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Financials, Field Service, Project Service Automation, Marketing, and Customer Insights.’ Microsoft Dynamics 365 website.
But what does that mean for you?
Dynamics 365 will offer a complete business solution platform to house a host of useful and more importantly integrated applications. As many of you are already experiencing the seamless CRM integration with Office 365, Outlook and SharePoint to name a few; The additional applications soon to be available, aim to eliminate the need to integrate into any third party application. Achieving an integrated customer experience is now even easier, as all of your business applications are now in one place; CRM, operations, financials and business intelligence.
Dynamics 365 will include the existing familiar applications; Sales, Service and Marketing as well as the new introductions of Project Service and Field Service.
Winning a project is only the beginning, now with the Dynamics 365 Project Service app, you can create a seamless transition from sales to delivery by engaging with customers to deliver billable projects on time and within budget. Project Service assists in estimating and quoting work, as well as contracting it by planning, assigning and scheduling resources. The application captures time spent, expenses and even progress data for real-time insights and accurate invoicing.
Project Service is the feature Cloud9 are most excited about, as we plan to use it to manage our project processes and offer a live update to our clients on their projects!
Managing resources in the field and ensuring they have easy access to client data is paramount in delivering the consistent high level of customer service needed, to differentiate your business from your competition.
Field Service includes; scheduling resources, managing service locations, customer assets, preventative maintenance, work order management, product inventory, scheduling and dispatch, customer billing, and analytics, to name a few features! That’s a lot.
In practice, Field Service can optimise your service schedules using routing tools and resource skill matching. It will also offer real-time communication between your service, field-based and dispatch teams, on any device, even offline. Your customers will also enjoy the proactive and automated communication.

No business solution would be complete without great reporting and analytics.
